Constructed wetlands are engineered systems that use natural functions vegetation, soil, and organisms to treat wastewater. Depending on the type of wastewater the design of the constructed wetland has to be adjusted accordingly. Living in a wooden house, we were afraid that leaks in the bathroom and kitchen would rot the floor. So we decided it was important to improve the plumbing .
Then we decided that if we were going to re-make the plumbing then we might as well re-organize the waste water disposal system. Because we live in the tropics, with periodic droughts, we decided to recycle our waste water.
